My Pipio Lifetime Deal Disappointment on AppSumo: Locked Out and Left Without Answers
I want to share my frustrating experience with Pipio’s Lifetime Deal (LTD) that I purchased through AppSumo back on February 18, 2023. Like many AppSumo users, I was excited to secure a powerful AI video generation tool for a one-time price—no more monthly fees, just simple and unlimited video creation.
### Pipio: The SEO VIDEO Promise
Pipio advertised themselves as the go-to platform for creating lifelike AI-generated videos without having to step in front of a camera. With customizable avatars, voiceovers, and a simple script-to-screen workflow, it seemed perfect for content creators, coaches, agencies, marketers, and anyone looking to level-up their video game. Early on, I made several videos using my LTD, and the process was seamless.### The Problem: Locked Out With No Solution
However, my issues began when I lost access to my original Gmail account—the very one linked to my Pipio LTD. When I tried logging in, I had no way to re-authenticate my account or change my registered email within Pipio’s system.
I reached out to their support email explaining the situation and requesting to transfer my Pipio LTD to a new email address, but unfortunately, I never received a response.
### No Access, No Solution
It’s incredibly disappointing as a paying lifetime customer to lose access simply because of an external email issue—especially when there’s little to no support from the company. The promise of a “lifetime deal” is meaningless if the reality is dependent on an unchangeable email address and there’s no way to regain access after something as common as losing a Gmail account.### What Should Happen Next?
I’m sharing my experience to warn others who might buy into a SaaS LTD—always double-check what happens if you need to change your primary email. And more importantly, it’s a call for the company founders to honor their early backers.An Open Letter to Founder & CEO Mike Bittner:
Mike, as the leader and co-founder of Pipio, I urge you to care about your earliest AppSumo customers. Please make it possible to transfer LTD accounts to a new email, or at least provide basic support for users locked out like me. Early adopters helped you grow—don’t leave us behind.
